Y Registration - thanks for answer now what year should it have had its first MOT ( I believe 3 years)?

I believe a Y reg car would have come out between 1st march 01 and 31st august so the MOT would be due between 1st march and august 31st 2004
Yes, 3 years after registration date. They now are mostly computerised - make sure if they are hand written that the details have ben correctly recorded. I saw one the other day where the letters in the Reg No were back to front! Fortunatley DVLA were able to confirm that certificate was genuine, but advised on getting it amended.
