Does anyone know of a hydraulic bottle jack that will work upside down.?

Just Use it right side up..No hydrolic jack can work upside down.. the pump must be submirged in oil and when its upside down the oil is not there .Use it right side up . It makes no difference for the position of the jack. you just need a 2" shaft welded under your jack mount plate to serve as a plunger .. I made mine ..it works fine ,,, I hope this helps you. It should not matter which way up it is, or if it was horizontal, as long as it has a solid base to push against.
It's not a bottle jack, but a porta power will work upside down.it's the same difference.

No, they are not designed that way.
A Hydraulic pump and ram will work in any orientation. They are more expensive but also more powerful than a car Jack. Try Machine Mart or Ebay.

There is no need to get the jack to push down by inverting it. If there is space just put the cylinder under the top of your press and squeeze the base down.
Alternatively put the jack on the base plate and fit a support block on the top of the cylinder which will lift against the top arm. this is a neat solution and easier all round - I've used it.

we had one at work, it was a normal jack with a separate reservoir that was connected via the oil filling hole to maintain a working oil level. the ram had a steel bar attached to its end with two extension springs to make it return when the jack was released.
