Whole car re-spray?

There are a lot of variables to consider when pricing a car for a respray.
Are you changing the colour?
Do you want the door shuts sprayed & possibly the engine bay?
Does the bodykit need to be removed and/or fitted?
How good a quality job do you need doing.
I manage a bodyshop and we do top quality work,a same colour respray would start at £1200 and work up from there.
As has been said previously the bulk of the work is in the preparation,so it depends on if there is much in the way of dents,rust etc to deal with.
You can get a respray done from around £500,but buyer beware,you get what you pay for,it's as well to pay a bit over the odds for a quality job than to pay too little and wind up having a car with a poor finish,covered in overspray that you will have to get done again.

how long is a peice of string no respecting painter will give you a price without seeing the job at hand,you pay for the preperation ..bottom line .The painting is the quick bit.The finishing too takes time if it is done correctly.

You should phone several bodyshops and get quotes to compare prices but, like anything else, you only get what you pay for.
Find several bodyshops, get quotes and ask to see previous work, to do the job right can cost upto £5k, depending on quality and warranty! Get the best you can AFFORD! better in the long run.
If it aint black already forget it, opening the bonnet will be a complete give away that it is a respray.
White is the proper colour for Mk 2 Escorts, and if they are all as good as my old one the scrapyard is the right place for them.
