My car felt really funny when i was drving.. steering felt heavy and break pads aswell.?

Sorry to bother you,
I have just come back from renting a video out, which is 10 min drive and on my return journey car felt weird from the right hand side and i felt i was applying more pressure on gas pedal. Couple of months back i put some steering fluid in. I don`t know what to do as i am a girl of 21. My car is a astra 1.6LS petrol, and registered 2001 X registration. I bought the car in july; mot not due until december so i was thinking of getting the car serviced at the same time. Do you think it would be wiser if i put it in for a service tomorrow morning? If i can at such short notice. Atleast they can top fluid levels etc. I have been driving for three years and other 2 cars both let me down. Your advice will be appreciated.

xx

I would definitely get it checked out asap before it causes any more damage. Sounds like either power steering problem or brakes seizing on right front wheel.
it could be your balance and tracking.
ee if you can get a free break test somewhere, it could be your break pads binding.
have you checked you haven't got a flat tyre and yes i would say it would be wise to get it checked sooner than later don't wont you going over the ditch.. safe motoring xxx
check your tire pressures first, should be around 27-30psi but the manual will say. if one was very soft it might feel like that.
Check your tires.

Check your fuses. You may have blown the fuse(s) for your steering and brake pumps.

Check your belts. I believe some cars have the power steering pump on a belt.
My husband is a mechanic and says that you should get it in to a shop and have them check the breaks and front end components. That way they would find out if anything is hanging up or sticking. It maybe a lack of lubrication. Front end may not have been greased or breaks maybe hanging up and racking pinion stearing could be sticking.
Steph j could be right. One of you brakes may have seized on. You would then have to apply more pressure to the gas to counteract the friction from the brake. If this is the case you might be able hear the brake sqealing. If you've been on a significant journey check the hub of the wheels for heat. I had this problem and identified the brake which was locked by the intense heat it was giving off.
your tyre is probably flat/ going flat
Check the tyre pressures.
Get the car serviced acording to the service schedule, it is time and mileage based, if you dont something will break and it will not work anymore.
I'm a vauxhall mechanic and would recommend that you get your car looked at asap.. i would also ask you why did you put fluid in your power steering? and how much fluid did you put in? it is possible you have a leak which could be getting on to your brakes also check the service history of the vehicle your brake fluid may need changing, if you get it serviced and explain the problem then the garage should point out all the faults on the vehicle be warned though repairs could prove costly
Sounds like your brake pads are binding badly, have it checked immediately
take it to a garage
