I took my driving licence 8 years ago but I am scared at the idea of driving. I need it for my job. Help me!?

I think you may be scared of what other road users will think of your driving..right! Well f*ck-em! you cant be any worse than the blind b*stards who are out on the roads already!..me included! You will get better with time.just make sure your fully insured should you severely disable and/or kill anybody. if you do get someone stuck under your car as a result of your poor driving skills, remember to check that none of their blood or clothing is stuck to your exhaust, it could cause a fire at a later date!..Brum brum..beep..beep!
i could not imagine not having a licence and being able to drive
no
what do you want us to do?
you haven't given us any information.
i'm not trying to be mean or mean spirited.
8 years ago>? you will need to take a retest then I should think.
Practice with someone you trust on a Sunday morning or evening. I think it is also possible to take a refresher course with the AA driving school. Don't worry, it'll come back to you, good luck x
Take some Drivers Education driving classes to help you with your confidence. Practice makes perfect.
start driving out in open roads where the traffic is light. another thing is that u can take drivers ed school but i dont know where u can find 1 in your state.
seriously nothing to worry about driving just becomes an everyday thing what scares me is driving through somewhere and not remembering it u think was i actually paying attention .
Take a driver education class. Look for a private one that specializes in driver confidence, and defensive driving. Practice driving in an area where there's little or no traffic at first and gradually work up to driving on more heavily used streets. Stay off the freeway until you're more confident in your driving. Good luck!
have a few lessons in a dual control car with a nice instructor- that should give you your confidence back
You are apparently a loser who shouldn't drive anyway. You are using that as a excuse to remain a loser. It is up to you to remove your head from your *** and get it together. There are plenty of losers on the roads now so we don't really need your dumb *** driving anyway.
Don't worry, I'm kind of similar. Book a few 'refresher' lessons and you'll be ok!
Why not sign up for a refresher course. My friend was the same and she took a refresher course and it worked for her!
You got the license - find a safe open place with lots of space and no traffic. Drive around until you´re comfortable with driving again. Gradually move into areas with more traffic.
I got used to driving on an old dirt road next to my grandma´s house - saved me a lot of driving lessons back then. ;)
just contact me at 09194888887,i am very willing to spare some of my time to teach you how to overcome it.,and also, its my hobby especially when its come to driving, because i started driving since i was 14. good evening and GOD bless always
Hi, you can take extra driving lessons even though youve passed. A couple with support will get you back into the swing of things.
Look for driving schools Sears Has one Allstate and other brand names just refresh your self behind the wheel of one of there cars and meet nice high school pimple faced kids. After you get wheel rolling and feel as if you can move about investigate a High Performance driving school. There you will learn car control and evasive actions and be the best driver in your neighborhood
lots of people have licenses but do not drive.
See a driving Instructor for a few "refresher lessons" before risking your own car.
there are drivers ed courses available most every where ,check the yellow pages in your area.
Could someone you trust come with you until you know the route and feel more confident?
Practice pratcice and more practice i think might be the answer
Get someone to take you to an empty car park. Then have them jump out, and give you 20minutes to drive around by yourself. If you see someone else come, in if you can, continue driving, but if it stresses you then stop. Your not learning to drive this time your learning to control your fear, so don't worry about the driving, just make sure you don't let yourself get stressed or worked up. If you feel fine about this, drive home with them in the car, and do exactly the same thing around a housing estate, but not where kids are likely to be playing. Drive by yourself, and just get used to it. You can then start to just build yourself up from there. I'd suggest getting a really cheap car, a £100 touch, so you don't have the fear of damaging something that will be difficult to replace. The less you have to worry about the better.
One other thing too, when your in the car park, try occasionally using a long straight to accelerate harshly if you feel ok, only for a couple of seconds, and allow loads of stopping space, but if you feel fairly relaxed but just cautiously scared, this rush can turn the fear into adreneline, which is what you need to comnquer this.
Good luck, hope this can help a little and hope the job goes well.
