Never buy a new one as it loses so much money once you drive it away. The £1500 reduction falls into insignificance. Buy a ford direct car from your local dealer. They have a low milage and a full guarantee and at almost half the cost of new.

NEVER pay anywhere near the list price from a Ford dealer.
There are plenty of nearly new ones around for about £8000.
Look on Ebay. Can you strech to an ST? Your new car will be worth 1000s less as soon as you drive it away. Buy nearly new.

i would not buy a new ford ever again, nothing but trouble from 3 days old, and back at the dealers again, for the 5th time, still not working, this time elec gearbox burnt out, eg, no gears =no engine start, 9 weeks out of warrenty, bill for £500+, thats after elec throttle unit burnt out, bearings knackered in front wheel, paint blistered and peeled off,1/2 respray needed, this is on a 03 fiesta ghia with less than 12000 on the clock !!!
buy a jap, better cars, better service, keep eyes peeled on bbc watchdog, thats the next step, DONT DO IT !!!
i would think all car dealers drop prices drastically when new models are due for delivery !!and this sounds just like it may be the case with a discount of that amount !unless they saw you coming
your friend is correct! the fiesta came out 2001/2002 and the new model should be out late next year. Don't be fooled by the £1500 knock off as this is a ploy to make the sale- come when the new shape is out, it will knock a few grand off more. Ford's are bad cars, depreciate like mad and quality is bad too. Go for a vw polo, or a golf but the polo will be replaced 2007.
Even if your in the UK, you should be able to go the our National Transportation Safety Board web site and do some research on that model, that and go directly to Fords web site and see what their doing. A little click here and there should answer your question, and help with your decision.
