Whats involved in a mk 3 golf 1.8 20v conversion?
Answers:
Other than work and Money.
Sounds expensive. Could you not sell it and buy a vr6 instead. You get around about 174bhp with one of these. And they are still good for around 27 mpg out of a 2.8 litre engine believe it or not and they are starting to get quite cheap now. The only downside is the group 16 insurance with them. (why do they ALWAYS get a rust spot just below the rear window in the middle?) It may need the brakes upgrading to abs if it does not already have abs as this was only fitted on the top of the range Mk3 golfs as standard.
It would be easier to buy a G4 1.8T. I also heard somewhere that you can bolt the 20v head on the 8v block with some mods.
