How can I cut extra grooves in a car trye?

I USED TO WORK ON ARTIC TRAILERS. WE USED A HOT GUN THAT USED "U" SHAPED BLADES TO CUT GROVES I THE TYRES.
YOU ALSO SEE THEM DO IT ON THE TYRES ON RALLY CARS

One of those things you cut a pear with, or a scalpel, but dont peirce the tire!
go see the pikeys. or you can buy tyre chasers.. theyre like rocking horse poo cos plod doesnt like the idea of anyone cutting more tread into their everyday tyres.

I would suggest bringing the car to a garage it could be dangerous if you cut too much off etc car tyres are dangerous if they haven't got enough treat on them.
Dont try it! There are such things as regroovable tyres but they are for slow moving vehicles. The tyres we use on cars today are made for high performance / speed. Cutting the tyre will reduce its strength and I'm pretty sure are illegal to use on the roads.
get a sharp knife

Cutting more grooves might not give you extra grip - it could actually reduce grip, especially when you get to smooth sections of road. You would be better off going for a softer tyre compound. In racing the life of the tyre is usually not a major consideration provided it is longer than the duration of the race.
Consider the recent changes to the rules of Formula 1. Why do you think they used to do so many tyre changes in a race before it was disallowed?
