I have just got into cycling and want to use my bike to and from work?
Answers:
no, it may naker you a bit at first but when you get used to it it will keep you fit and help reduce pollution. If your cycling on busy roads though you may get some fummes in your mouth from all the cars so i would wear a mask of some sort!
Good luck. no pain, no gain!
yes
Depends how flat it is and how fit you are. You might need to work up to it. Try doing it at the weekend then try doing it just once and build up gradually. Also suggest you get a decent road bike. Don't attempt it on a mountain bike
no
but what about changing / showering facilities at work
It would take a while.I bike about 30km every other day (about 19 miles) and it takes me about 40-45 minutes, but most of it is on bumpy trails and hills. Try biking that much tomorrow/Sunday (over the weekend) and see how hard it is.Might take some getting used to, but depending on what kind of traffic you go through, it might be just a bit slower.
tis up 2 u, u wil get sick of it so i say stick to yer usual routine but if u want to liven up yer mornings then yes take the bike then walk. lol goodluck i no u can do it!
look .. cycling is bad for the planet.. all you do is clog up the roads for us drivers, thus causing us to use more petrol. so think about the environment and keep using your car.
yes
looking at more or less 4 hrs everyday.probably more
Course it is you pillock, when you have sobered up you may have regard to the phenomenon of Rain.
Then there is smell, why should your workmates suffer your sweaty unwashed stink all day.
I cycled 5 miles each way to work for a week once but I did sod all work for the first hour because I was Knackered. I was fit then, 50 miles was nothing but that 5 miles involved 2 x 1 in 6 hills.
My wifes uncle got super fit cycling, then he fell off and his leg broke, bone cancer, they tried a plastic bone but no dice, he died at 57 I think. he would almost certainly have lived to 65 if he had just watched Lance Armstrong videos instead of being stupid.
