My husband and I recently flew to Raleigh through Newark. I was really disappointed that we weren't on a 777 on our return from Newark to Gatwick. It was a really small plane with no personal entertainment system. It sucked. We'll never fly Continental to the US again. Fly BA instead!
I haven't, but I know someone has though. They said it's just like any other flight, pretty comfortable, long, has entertainment system's, and overall it's good.
I flew to New York as a plane stop with American when I tried visiting Brazil with my family, they're good too. If your looking for an aircraft which has lots of entertainment, American has pretty good one's.
Yes i flow from Gatwich to Newark with them ( but a number of years ago). I was very happy with the service, no delays and ( as much as possible) comfortable seat. We also recieved full size pillows which where more comfortable then the little ones i've had with BA on long flights. I'd fly with them again.
Yes,I flew from Gatwick to Newark a while ago.Make sure you're going on a Boeing 777 as they have personal tv's at every seat and a whole lot better than the Boeing 757 bcoz they dont have tv's at every seat and the 757 is more cramped inside too.

I see that you have some positive replies concerning Continental - but. Having used them once, never again.
This ancient thing rattled and shaked, all the seats were different colours, bought on the cheap from other airlines, the "entertainment" systems packed up, the food was cr*p, the cabin staff were surly and indifferent, the toilets were less than clean, the check-in staff didn't know which way was up.
The list could go on.
Perhaps I just picked a bad flight, but I doubt it.
Use some other carrier, in my book.
