Can I use the car insurance I have on my current car on a new car I plan to buy?

I am in the UK so only answers that apply to UK insurance dealers.

Answers:
most policies exclude any other car that is owned or hired by you. so sorry not if the new car is registered to you.
Best get in touch with your insurance company.
Mine wouldnt do this, but they did add the new car to the existing policy, for a fee of course.
you will need to advise them of your new car details. they will then work out the premium and the difference needs to be paid or if its a cheaper premium you will get a refund.
it's mainly based on age, car type, engine size, modifications etc.
Most policies allow you to drive SOMEBODY ELSES vehicle under third party insurance only. Not all policies allow this. So long as you don't own the vehicle ie. test drive or borrow, than using your own insurance IS legal.the moment that it's yours you'll need your own cover.

You can either upgrade your existing policy, or take out a new one.

Note that the vehicle doesn't actually need to be insured by the other person.just owned by them. (This is the loophole that the companies want closed)
No - even though your policy will have the provision of third party only cover on other cars, the insurance company will not pay for any claims - you are required to inform the insurance company of any relevant changes to your details - this is termed utmost good faith. Inform them that you are changing your car. Also, it is illegal not to have valid insurance for your vehicle.
you can but you need to transfer details to new vehicle
Of course you cant; its a totally different vehicle. If you do this, then have an accident, the insurance wont pay you a penny- or the poor sod you hit, either.
yes you can all you do is when u buy your new car transfer it over from old to new car very easy really.
