The last decent toyota rally car I remember was the Celica GT4 and that is an old car now, the new Celica isn't really built to compete with the scooby and evo.
Honda do use the Civic in rallies but a civic can't be described as an equivalent now can it.
I know Toyota is coming out with the Supra again. That thing is going to be a monster. I'd rather get one of those instead of a Evo or STI.
Not sure about Honda though.
Yes. because The Evolution and STI are just factory tuned versions of the Lancer and Impreza with are the equivalent of the Civic by honda, the Corolla by Toyota, the Sentra by Nissan, the Caliber by dodge, the Cobalt by Chevy, the Focus by Ford, and so on.
No Honda nor Toyota have any super tuned AWD cars from the factory that directly compete with the Evo and STI but they have a long reputation of their owners making their cars fast and have a much larger Aftermarket parts manufactures than Mistubishi and Subaru.
Toyota once sold GT4 versions of the Celica, which was apromimant car in rallying. Four wheel drive, and later road-going cars had up to 250ish BHP as standard. Honda have never really been major players in the muddy world of rally.
Supra for toyota, and s2000 for honda. Lotus Elise and Exige have toyota celica engines, which well SMOKE crappy evos and stis like nothing in the straight and in the turns. and plus its a non turbo engine.
No.
The closest thing Honda has is the S2000 and that is really mixing apples and oranges. Toyota's best now is the Scion TC and that's not even close. But when the new Supra's come out, the EVO and STI, I doubt, will match it..but then again, I hear the Supra will be going for at least $70k.
Wow.Im suprised no one even bothered to mention a Honda NSX. It will blow the doors of an Evo or Sti.
no, honda and toyota do not have all wheel drive turbo, performance cars. the closest things i can think of is the acura rdx and the toyota tacoma with the trd supercharger.
Honda has the Civic SI but that doesn't compare to those EVO or the WRX.
Toyota doesn't..it used to have the Supra.
Personally, the EVO looks better than the WRX..but the WRX has more HP than the EVO..
both cars will have lousy re-sale values and will fetch less than $10 grand in about a yr.
Depends on how you look at it. Honda's Integra and Civic Type R are both frantically fast, as is Toyota's Supercharge Coralla sport, but ultimately they give away 100bhp and only drive the front wheels so so they can't really keep up.
The only current competition for the in the japanese camp is the very understaed Mazda 6 MPS, which has 276bhp and four wheel drive.
The Evo and Imprezza WRX are first and foremost rally cars that have gained notoriety in the World Rally Championships. Toyota of Europe has a modified Toyota Corolla hatchback rally car that is as equally potent as the these cars but is not so well-known in the U.S. since the closest we can get to this model is the Toyota Matrix. In Japan, the Nissan's Skyline can be considered the street equivalent to these cars but far more superior as the Skylines have an already legendary status amongst car afficionados for their brutally precise and efficient set-ups..
the honda equiv. would be the honda civic si but sadly toyota had nothing
No.
The Toyota Supra and the Honda NSX

In Japan there is. Google "CIVIC DOMINATOR." Its supercharged, 4wd sedan, 300bhp. :)

tes
probibly, as they are two of the most over rated cars of all time. Watch some rally cross and see both models get eaten by the likes of metros and escorts, i got a tuned MG ZS that enjoys regulaly showing them up from lights!
