Beaulieu is by far the best!
Caister castle & car museum is a good one
Location" Caister-on-sea, 2 miles north of Great Yarmouth
Norfolk"
beaulieu in the new forest 20 minutes from southampton is quality but dont expect anything too modern. some classic motors reside there
who gives a ****? who wants to trapes around looking at clapped out old bangers. its boring. i like cars but i dont want to go look at them and say things like ohhh look at the shine on that. horsecock!
i'd have to say the Transport Museum in Coventry. It has one of the largest collections in Britain as well as housing the worlds fastest vehicle 'Thrust 2'. Well worth a visit.
Also Coventry residents get in free.
The National Motor Museum in Beaulieu, Hampshire. Have a look at www.beaulieu.co.uk for info. Also, if you have small children, the Cotswold Motor Museum in Bourton-on-the-Water in Gloucestershire is good as it's the home of T.V.'s 'Brum'. Go to www.cotswold-motor-museum.com for info.
By far the Transport Museum in Coventry is the best in the UK. It is newly refurbished and very informative with many rare or one off cars. It is free to get in and the staff are very helpful, if you have any questions.
The Transport Museum in Glasgow
i agree with all the others there is one of vauxhall cars in luton..but it is by appointment only..and why only cars? what about all transport, war and peace..ships tanks aircraft buses trains.and trucks even pedal cycles and motor cycles(sammy millers new forest excellent!)
The Museum of Transport in Glasgow is excellent with a wide range of cars, buses, trains etc. Lots to see and do - and it's free!
Definitely Beaulieu. Great setting in the New Forest, plenty of other activities, monorail to take you around and some really historic cars, such as Bluebird, Outspan Orange, etc.
You can take as much time or as little time as you like, plus there is the stately home to visit, for those who like such things.
Have been many times and keep going back, even though I'm not a car buff.
one in keswick, it is a tv and film collection. It has all of the fast and the furious cars, Bean's mini, Nightrider, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, and the A-Team van. I think it has the General Lee too, but I can't remember
Beau lie Motor Museum in Hampshire

There is no doubt that the number one place to visit, Is The Motor Museum, in Beaulieu Hampshire. This museum has been going for many years, and has vehicles from the 1800's. It also has a stately home the residence of Lord Montague. It is situated in the New Forest just west of Southampton. You will need a full day to cover this Museum. It also has a section on motor cycles
