How long can i legally drive my car on foreign number plates?
Answers:
Are you staying in the UK long term? If so the car should be registered as soon as possible. If it's under 10 years old you'll probably need an SVA test. You will also need documentation to show it is de-registered in the country it came from.
If you are only staying 6 (or maybe 12) months you can continue to use the car so long as it is still legal in the country it came from - that is taxed etc.
P.S. Nothing wrong with chimps driving - probably better than some people!!
ha ha ha ha ha, until you are pulled over as a suspected terrorist
I think it's like, 3 or 5 months. I moved back to the US from Germany and I think that's about how long I had mine. I'm not positive though. If I were you I'd just get them changed ASAP.
I would have thought straightaway. Surely you would need British road tax
As far as i know you can actually keep your plates and insure it etc. Ring your insurance companies to find out
I find the idea of a chimp driving slightly disturbing.
I'm pretty sure you can do it for a maximum of a year.
But check the DVLA website for details.
