What Car should i get?
Answers:
For driving height and practicality I would recommend the Renault Kangoo. It has masses of space, a sliding door, it comes in an automatic version and is light and airy. I have driven this car (manual version) and it is comfortable and well thought out.
For strength and economy you should consider a diesel if you are making long and frequent journeys.
The best diesels are French, they have perfected the engines over many years.
However the petrol engine is quieter and maybe a little nippier?
My mother is disabled and next year she also is going to be changing her ageing car for a motability car. I have been looking at the best car for her as she must have an automatic and it must take a wheelchair.
ford transit
There are many conversion vans available for wheelchair access with ramps, etc.
i dont no ask ur parents or ask some 1 who no's
Look at the 2005 to 2007 nissan frontier truck 4 cyl engine automatic and have mobility install a wheel chair crane on the side of the bed to hoist the Quickey up and in. And any other special controls too.
honda civic great car low price
Most Vans work well with motorized wheel chairs I work as a security person on the weekends and this is the most widely used vehicle
mustang would be a good car i think.
im on the scheme too. im also having problems. the ford galaxy is one of the best. or how about the renault espace. the car i am going for now is the nissan x trail. the boot is very large and would accomodate a wheelchair. it all depends on how high the car needs to be. go onto the motability web site. you can then put in details of kind of things car has to have and they will come up with plenty of suitable cars for you. its a headache i know, but once you have the car the headache will be worth it, good luck
