I just found out that the keys to my old car can open the door of my new car, does this often happen?
Answers:
there are only seven points on a key normally, So if you buy the same type of car you can get a chance of doing this. I Have a Nissan Sentra and can always find a sentra at the car lot that has my key.
no way!
Spookie!!
Not the first time I've heard of it.
I had an astra key that opened a fiesta but would not start it.
That is not good. If someone else has the same car as your old one, your new one could be at risk of theft. You should get another copy of that key made. That doesn't often happen, and it never should.
At least you will not neeed to have a spare keys cut!
what shut up
I've had old cars that would open with ANY key, including front-door keys. The chances of the door of a new car opening with the keys to your old car are so remote that I would want to check the lock - ask some friends to try their keys and if they work get new locks fitted.
yes
I had a ford escort that had a key to open quiet a few cavaliers
only if your car is crap!!!1
go on tell me its a ford
my 67 camaro key worked in my 89 caprice. I had a car that you could stick any key in it to start it.
it happens but rarely. My house key opened my caravan door.
It does if you re-buy your old car :-)
