I'm having trouble starting in the heat of recent, evaporation/ fuel pump? Is the access under the rear seat?
Started the other day, wouldnt start in the shopping carpark. Checked fuel coming through at front under bonnet. seems ok, retfitted both pipes (right way round ha ha ). turned on ignition, listened out for the sound of an electric fuel pump starting. couldnt hear anything, tapped the underside of the fuel tank, and then tried to start it.. it started! Drove like a dream, no coughin, no stuttering at all. The following day, started first thing, drove approx 6 mile, arrived and parked. A couple of hrs later, wouldnt start. Left it for 15 mins, started! Drove home, left for 2 mins and tried to start it again, no luck. Towed it round the block, would not start.. Got back onto drive, tapped underside of fuel tank (just a chance attempt) started first time! I may sound thick but wouldnt that indicate a failing fuel pump or is there a common fault with this model that gives a simular result / fault. Any answers would be very appreciated.. Thankyou.

You don`t get evaporation problems with injection systems, but fuel pump and pump relay problems occur. On middle aged cars, a common snag is corrosion in the electrical connections, usually in the area above the fuel tank, but sometimes anywhere between the supply and relay connections. If someone has been playing behind the panel fitting extra gizmos like amplifiers, suspect the connections. Sometimes the pins on the relay get slightly dirty and a quick wiggle sorts things out, otherwise a trip into the tank is needed. Dirty fuel causes its own problems, and I usually keep my face straight and recommend siphoning from cleaner, more modern cars. It is also worth taking off the blinkers (ie thinking outside the box) and checking the plugs and especially leads. After about five years most plug leads are far less effective than new ones, and if they are the originals then its almost certain they need changing. This caught me out recently with my own transport, the old leads were so bad it even affected the exhaust emissions, and the misfires nearly removed the gearbox!
5hit in ur fuel pump,take back seat out and whack it with a bit of wood,(the pump)if all else fails its easier to put auxillary inline pump in than replace old one,
