Rover 400 - Brake question?

How do you force the rear brake piston back on a Rover 400 ? Do you need a special tool ?

if the rear brakes are disc then they rotate in, they are threaded in side u can't squeeze them in..by the way yes there is a special tool 4 them, u can get it at about auto parts store, it hooks 2 a 3/8 ratchet..
Try undoing the resevoir cap on the master cylinder to allow the hydraulic fluid from 'hydraulicing' ie somewhere for it to move to.
release resevoir cap and use a big spanner to force piston back if it wont move it may have seized
Alan152 is right, but in case you dont speak txt, you need a special tool to rotate the piston to get it to return all the way in. I could tell you more but you really should get a manual, or better still give the job to a pro.

Take care as the handbrake mechanism will require setting up too. Really you should consider getting a mechanic on it mate.
