I want to 'chip' my diesel vectra?

It's 150bhp at the min, but by adding a £200 module to it you can make it produce around 190bhp apparently when you use in conjunction with a k&n filter.

Do I need any to make any further modifications? And is this going to destroy my engine?

Answers:
the intake will not make a difference.

Like you probably know, a diesel compresses its air and then injects the fuel. adding an intake will not help force any air into the cylinder before it is compressed. Therefore only a turbocharger can give you more air.

The good news is that diesels run lean, which means that you can add quite a bit of fuel until you run out of air.

The best modification, and the most life extending, would be to unrestrict the exhaust. Even a higher flow muffler would be better than nothing.
If you keep the exhaust stock, youll be putting a whole lot of extra stress on the heads, headers, valves, and pipes.
If you get the chip, dont drive like crazy until you get at least a higher flow muffler.

Good luck.
