My friend has a Kawasaki zx12r ninja. He says it will beat a porsche boxter. Is itrue.?Are these bikes quick?

As a bike racer and rider I will enlighten those of you unlearned in the art of sportsbikes.
The person who stated the bikes are limited to 186 is correct, the government stepped in and limited the top speed on bikes back in 1999 when the hayabusa hit 196 mph, the ZX-12r was hitting 194 mph. With VERY few modifications and limiters taken off, the zx-12r and busa are easily 200+ mph bikes.
To give you an example of just how fast bikes are, they raced a GSX-1000r against a new Z06 Corvette (which is substantially faster than a boxter porsche).the Motorcycle could hit 0-100mph and then brake and come to a dead stop before the corvette could even hit a 100 mph. With that in mind, the newer bikes like the ZX-14 are considerably quicker than the GSX-1000r of old.
To answer you question fairly and accurately.once you start talking about "liter" bikes, like the GSX-1000r, zx-10R, Yamaha R-1, and such, there is NO stock car (even kit car) that comes close to matching their speeds, not the buggatti veryon, not the porsch 911 turbo, not the viper, not the saleen turbo S7, nothing.
The new zx-14 is putting down quartermile times roughly around 9 seconds flat. I have personally driven a 05 ZX-10r (when stock) to a 9.7 quartermile time. I think the fastest production car to date is the bugatti veryon which is a 10.9 second quartermile car.
You have to realize, these bikes are putting out 170+ horsepower to the wheels and weigh roughly 400 pounds. Do the math.in order to get a car to have the same power to wieght ratio as that you would need a 4000 pound car to have 1700 RWHP.then you have to worry about getting it to hook up.
To make a long story short, no stock car can come close to a stock sportsbike that is over 600 CC. If anyone tells you differently, they are very uninformed and making a gross error in speculation.

yes! and the boxter is actually slow compared to most bikes. bikes can easily do 3.5 seconds and less! they really fast ones can do 2.x seconds, but the rider needs the heart, guts and a brain the size of a nut lol (j/k) to do that. they can also reach speeds of 300+km.
Yes without a doubt. The bike is much faster than the porsche. Although keep an eye out for the kit cars such as the aerial atom which can do 0-60 in 2.8sec and to 100 in 8. Now thats moving into bike territory for shear acceleration!
Its true but almost any bike over 400cc will out accelearate cars to 60.

the bike got away quickest easily beating the car and the jet. over the distance though the jet came back and won. the car came last.

Even though bikes lack the horsepower that cars have, they tend to be much quicker. You can't expect something that has half the horsepower, but less than a third of the weight to lose. It has nothing to do with it being a Ninja or a Porsche. His bike would probably be quicker than most cars that are out of the road. About faster? I don't know. I would expect the Porsche to top out a higher than the bike.
How does he know? Both are only allowed to to 70 mph. Its egos like this that cause accidents.
It all depends on the length of a race.
Any motorcycle. correction most motorcycles can get a quicker start at a beginning of a race than any car or truck.
to answer your question. the ZX-12R is an extremely quick bike. depending on what year it was made. Newer super sport bikes are governed to only accelerate up to 186mph. Older ones like the zx12 will do all of 200 plus mph.

Well said FNFAST as a rider myself hayabusa and fireblade i get a little bit peed off with the drivers of so called fast cars.Put them on the back of a bike and let them know what speed really is.
