A weeks car insurance in Spain - who will cover me?
Need to get cover. will any companies cover me? Mapfre may for 3 months minimum. Linea Directa will only do 12 months!

I had the same problem - needed insurance just to get the car out of England. Ended up having to go through an insurance broker who gave me 1 weeks cover for £40, which allowed me to drive in any EU country.
Look up brokers in your area (www.yell.co.uk) and they should be able to give you cover straight away, and you can pick up your certificate the same day, or they can post it to you.

Your wasting your time, better to hire a car for a week !
You're probably better off getting your dad to insure the car in Spain. Very few insurance companies in the UK will cover you on someone else's car in a foreign country. There are probably countless companies on Spain who are happy to give short term insurance.
