The bird must have managed to come along and do its thing at a time when the door /was/ open - it just may not have been opened by yourself.
Either that, or the bird's learned how to break into cars.

Are you sure you haven't got car fairies? They are very elusive and when they do come out, they tend to poo on the go, and it looks very similar to bird cr*p.
It is a well known fact that the "ohmigoolies" bird which has no legs because it flies(most of the time) upside down, can project its droppings (because of their consistency) through solid objects. This has the effect, when deposited on the outside of glass, of causing them to be transfered through to the inside.
Which can be a bit disconcerting when travelling at speed on motorways and such, when it hits your windscreen.
However nature gets its own back on the bird when it attempts to land eg: it name Omi-goolies!!!!

As I'm sure you well know, the bird received the assignment from your own office . She waited under the car for a chance to carry out the assignment, but as you jumped in and drove off ,she was forced to hold onto the exhaust pipe . When you parked and left the car she drilled a small hole under the passenger seat, and snuck into the car.
Unfortunately your alarm went off ,and she had to stay `perfectly still until you eventually left the car for the night ,and went to bed . Then she deposited the package carefully where requested ,and left by the same route.
