It was rated at like 260 horsies but weighed about 600 lbs less than the current EVO 8 and 9.
Maybe for its time, but I think the best one is Evo 7, it should be either the most powerful and beautiful.
i say the same i love the evo 5 my mate has one and when i can afford one i will get one.

Indeed, the power boundaries of the model was given already with Evo 5 (the 276 HP limit set by the japanese authorities, was already reached with Evo 4), so they went on developing the suspension and the aerodynamics on the Evo 6. With the 7th evolution, the car has become more rigid, and torque band was widened and they developed the ACD (Active center differential). For Evo 8, you have a 6-speed gearbox and Super Active Yaw Control system, which increase the cornering speed. And there's no stopping. :D
For me, the best ever will always be the latest, for it's even harder and harder to make it better ;D

Driven a few in the past, gotta say Evo 6 TME(Tommy Mackinen Edition). 320 bhp, ayc, acd, the full monty. Lower, faster, best!

fifth gear done a test between the 6 and the 9, rated the 6 the better all round daily driver, the 9 was to ott, and was to expensive on wash powder, they cr*pped themselves !!
i like mine the best! its white, with white wheels, and its just pretty, mine is a Evo 7, I changed out the factory wheels that came on it and put my own, but who cares its even prettier!
