Did you replace PVC valve?
It could be the cause
change the pvc valve not getting proper ventilation
bad PVC valve. located on the valve cover with a hose going to the air cleaner.
Sounds like you have "blow by" which could mean you have a cracked piston ring, and its allowing oil to come back thru the carb.
I hope it is not that bad. Good luck.
Oil is coming up through the valve cover breather tube. There should be a vacuum there. Chances are your bath pan (under the intake) or PVC valve is clogged with carbon. Or the vacuum to the PVC may be clogged or broken.
Well depending on how many miles you have it could be "blow by". the cylinder rings are getting worn and letting compression past. then the vent, NOT the PC valve, but the vent, is letting it ( oil residue) up into the air cleaner housing, via the vacuum caused by the intake system. and contaminating the filter
Did you try looking the PCV valve. It could be no good and oil is being drawn in to the air cleaner throught that.
the oil tank needs to breath unless you are getting alot of oil to you air filter i would not worry. you also can remove the breather pipe and fit a seperate filter to it that would solve you problem.
ok simple answer if your breather tube (a tube from the valve cover) goes into your aircleaner housing you will always get this, the simple fix: get a breather filter, it looks like a little mushroom and presses into the valve cover in pplace of the hose, just go to your local advanced auto or autozone, they'll get you set up.
You have a problem with rings.
Unfortunately your looking at an engine tear down.
Yes, the pcv valve can also cause this. but 45 years experience points to a rebuild. Usually a frozen or broken ring allows detonation to get past the rings and pushes the oil vapor through the vent system and it winds up on the air filter.
You can test the system with your hand over the oil filler. With the engine running just remove the cover and place your palm over where the cap goes. There should be a fairly strong vacuum pull on your hand, at idle. Run the engine speed up a bit and see if it disappears or gets weak. If a broken ring is the cause with the cap off you may even get oil kicked out of the engine.
If you don't want to keep replacing the air filter you can buy a Fram Air Hog air filter or a K&N air fliter. Both of these filters are reusable & can be cleaned with a separate cleaning kit that both companies offer.
CHECK TO SEE IF THE ENGINE BREETHERS R UNBLOCKED OTHERWIZE OIL GOES OTHA WAY ROUND ENGINE AND BLOWS BK IN CARB/ INTAKE
