The radio/cd player in my Nissan Primera cuts out intermittently. Have uninstalled/reinstalled without success

Because intermittent am unable to go through usual route of bust fuse/dead radio/broken wire etc. It's a phillips unit with remote cd unit.

Sounds as if you have a loose connection somewhere. Recheck all your connections. Paying very close attention to the earths, might be no harm to run an extra earth to your unit.
If it is a cd changer somewhere then this also has a seperate earth
Just had exactly the same problem with the radio in my mitsubishi. Checked the live feed which was ok. Checked the earth and this was the problem. I by passed the earth feed on the wiring plug of the loom and earthed the unit directly. So far so good.
