Mondeo takes an age to start sends out smoke from exhaust as engine turns then cloud of black smoke on starti
Answers:
Your fuel mixture is too rich. Also, if it is an E.F.I., the injector screens need to be cleaned. (black smoke is Carbon)
head gasket gone.
Ew Nasty. see and i get grief for smoking
You're burning oil m8. Check your oil level regularly.
too much fuel-it's flooding-sounds like faulty air-flow meter
Could be injectors not atomising properly.
if you have a turbo it could be the problem, it might need cleaning.
I have been told that 'oil-burners' need to be ran more often than petrol engines , that's what they are designed for. Try an injection cleaner. You put it into your fuel tank , make sure you have at least half a full tank though. Halfords sell it , ask the shop assistant for help.
sounds exaxctly like what happened to ma mondeo it was da haed gasket had went and it was pumping out mad orange water, i got a quote on how much it would take to fix it but i would have been spendin more on that than what i originally spent on the car!
Hi, sounds like fuel injection pump, very expensive to fix.800+
Ages to start - glow plugs inneffective. Check fuse, wiring, plugs.
Black smoke on startup, your heavy foot pumping fuel into the cylinder while cranking. Unburnt fuel collects and when it does fire, there isn't enough air to ensure complete combustion. An excess of fuel in combustion gives black smoke. Excess air gives white smoke. Burning oil gives bluey-grey smoke.
Black smoke can also be caused by dirty fuel injectors, have these cleaned by a garage.
If its petrol it's just flooding, probably caused by a faulty injection system. if its diesel the compressors almost had it, which means taking it to the scrap yard.
turbo on the way out? is there a loss in power. my pug was a bad starter, turned out to be air getting in the fuel filter and the diesel running back into the tank.
