This may be a totally stupid question but how do u fill the clutch fluid on the older rear engined transporter

Answers:
The Type 2(up to 79) all had cables. The Vanagoon(80 to 92) has a hydraulic clutch that uses the same reservoir as the brake master. Its under the instrument panel cover, just pull it up and you will see it.
vw transporter? haven't got a clue?
bit complicated to do i suggest taking it to a mechanic
I think you will find thats a clutch cable and not hydraulic
if its an old vw air cooled dog youv got they were a cable clutch
and if my memory serves me well the master cyl for your brakes is under your feet {thats under the floor}
the filler is on the dash board drivers side
Type 25 is in the instrument cluster housing, but if it's empty first pull the rubber boot from around the slave(n/s, top of the gearbox just behind bellhousing)and see if any fluid has leaked past the piston seal.
replace slave if it has and bleed system.
