sounds like it!! you can also get a recharging canister at an auto parts store- it costs less. i did the canister thing- but i wasn't very pleased with the results.

wal-mart has charge it yourself kits, just follow instructions, put hose on biggest ac line this is low pressure side!
Do it right and have it charged at a garage. If that doesn't do the trick, it is probably your compressor, which can be expensive to replace. Anyway, stay cool!
I would not charge the ac yourself. Spend the 40 - 50 dollars to get it checked or charged. If you over charge the compressor you are going to spend 400.00 to get it fixed.
TAKE IT FOR SERVICE.NEEDS GAS REFILL.
Taking it to a garage would be the best bet. There are do it yourself fill kits available, but it is a job best left to a professional.
Re-charge it. If that don't work, cover yourself in iced water and it will feel cooler in the car. Move to Kodiak Island? Buy a car with climate control?
The "quick fix" only works if the problem is that your refrigerant is low. It won't work for any other problem, like the compressor.
The "quick fix" is:
Open the hood
Find the place where the type of a/c refrigerant is listed
Go to Wal-mart
Buy one bottle of that exact refrigerant, and a refrigerant pressure gauge. Sometimes they come in a package together.
Install per the instructions.
Before you do that, get out on the highway, and make sure that it's not your vacuum pressure. Turn on the a/c, cruise control, and everything else that works on vacuum pressure, and see if accelerating makes the a/c worse, and if slowing down by coasting makes it better. If so, the problem may not be refrigerant, but the engine vacuum pressure. So try the vacuum test on the highway on the way to Wal-mart, so that you don't spend money on refrigerant if you don't have to.
Just get it serviced, will work brilliant after and save you messing around
