Hi
Two important terms here
Registered, means that the DVLA have your up to date details as the owner(Keeper) of the car.
Licenced, referes to the anual tax which you have to pay to use the road, the licence is a disc which must be displayed in the windscreen to prove the tax has been payed.
For up to two months after you buy a vehicle using the new keeper supliment, you can licence(pay the road tax) at a post office to obtain an windscreen disc, you will also need insurance, and a road worthiness test (MOT depends on age and type of vehicle, many local garages can do testing)
When you bought the car you should have filled in part of the V5(the bigger document the new keeper supliment is torn from) the previous owner should post this to the dvla, which should update the registered owner details to yours, and you should get a new V5 in the post.
a lot of shoulds the , I would recomend if you do not automatically get a new V5 within a few weeks that you get a photo copy of your new keeper supliment keep it safe, and then post the original along with your V62 to the DVLA, I would stongly reccomend using special delivery as the dvla are good at loosing documents posted to them.
I would reccomend you look up the terms
registered keeper
vehicle licencing
sorn
on the dvla web site www.dvla.gov.uk
unless you car has a valid licence, you still have to use a v10 or a reminder form from dvla
dunno but hat is officially off!!!!!!!!
happy now!?
I saw you this morning, on your BIKE
'bout time you took the stabilisers off
