Am i insured ?

I would like to drive my partners car , we both have a full driving licence and are both fully comp , if i drive his will i be fully comp , or third party only ?

Answers:
Daemonster is right, I have fully comp cover to drive any car that has a valid insurance. My old policy only covered me third party on another car even if it was already covered on the owners policy as fully comp. One insurance company is now covering the driver and not the car, but I don't know which one it is. It's been designed to allow new drivers to gain their no claims bonus.
Do you have part ownership of the car?
You will be Third party only. You should add your name as a driver on his policy to ensure you are fully covered.
yeaaahh you'll be fine.
3rd party only probably. Check your/his policies.
no i think 3rd party only
3rd party.
On a standard policy you would be Third Party.

If your own policy is any car, then clearly you are fully comp.

There can of course be restrictions, because of age or for instance if he drives a brand new Ferrari
Third party only
To avoid any doubt, have your name put on his policy as a named driver.

If you drive a car for business, not just commuting, tell the Insurance Company that you need Class 1 cover, most companies as standard just do Social Domestic and pleasure, some then top up with SDP + commuting but you have to ask for Class 1 specifically, and it doesnt usually cost more!
