I have had the same problem with my renault magane, when i took it for a scan they told me i need to replace a MAP sensor. have it scaned and they will tell you wats the probs its only £30.
that's what happens when you get a clio.buy american
check ur ht leads may b miss firing, water oil too an put in a coolant. sounds to me like u need to check ur leads an ur spark plugs, happened to me yesterday, silly little things, an please make sure engines off or u will get a shock
need a new fuel filter and or spark plugs
We probably don't have enough information to give a good answer, but from what you say, the engine doesn't have enough power to easily move the car forward, so it hesitates or even begins to stall. It also sounds like you are driving a stick, so you'd probably know if it was not shifting correctly.
So, here's a thought. If you have a bad spark plug or ignition wire, then one or more cylinders isn't firing. This will severely reduce engine power and require you to feather the clutch a lot more in order to ease forward. You might also notice "knocking", in which gas/air mixture in the problematic cylinder ignites when the piston compresses it. It starts to sound like a diesel engine (which is no coincidence).
So, I'd start by just lifting the hood and checking the ignition wires to see if they're all connected. Give 'em a little shove and a twist to make sure. If that doesn't do it, you'll have to pull the plugs, and probably replace one or more. This job isn't hard, but you may want to take the car to a mechanic if you don't want the hassle.
have an engine tune, engines today are far more complex than years ago, for a minimal amount ic can save you stress and money, if the engine isn't tuned up right..
Might be its the fact it is being driven by a jerk
plugs and plug wires replace them simple solution trust me had one to do the same thing
I had a similar problem with my Chrysler and I scanned it and it had set a code saying that it had lost either the Cam or Crank. being as I knew that neither had come out of the engine it had to be the sensors. so far I have replaced the cam sensor and it ran fine (the crank is right above the transmission on my car and the trans has sensors as well and I needed to get a diagram of where they are before I go pulling sensors off)
