Good luck with your search.
Jaguar is a make not known for its great reliability ratings. The x-type is particularly troublesome. This is an image car that is really lacking in the image department. So I would stay away from it and get a Toyota or Honda.
You pay more for an X-type Jag than you do for a 3 series BMW and get nothing better for your money. It does not perform anywhere nearly as well and is woefully unreliable. I agree with the previous answer - the Japanese seem to know what they are doing when it comes to making reliable vehicles.
the older ones. depending how far you want tou go back.
General motors has owned them for the last 10 years or so. but they are still great cars. ihey own them but to the most part let
them run on there own.
My 'oul lads friend has just bought a second hand one. He likes it apart from the string of Maxol lorries you need to accompany you on long journeys i.e high fuel consumption.
