Why is my car battery flat every morning?

its a fairly new battery only 5 months old, its worked great untill a few weeks ago, the connections are fine and its topped up with battery fluid's. there are no lights left on and the cd player is always turned off,

it sometimes start fine, but most of the time its completely dead no life at all! i then have to be jump started!

any help would be great

Thanks

your alternator is the problem. not charging the battery when the car is running.
have you tested to see if it is the alternator? It could be many things but this is the first thing that springs to mind. We have this problem especially in the winter. Best thing to do is ask at the garage before buying a new alternator tho as they aren't cheap!

Good luck
Get a new one
because it has been smashed
cos your alternators broke and conducts the wrong way?
take it to the place you got it and see if it is holding its charge,Very quick simple test, otherwise its your alternator.
try testing battery
where you bought it from should have a tester
If it is uselees take it back it should be under warrenty
I had that happen once, it turned out to be a light on inside the glove box. I just pulled the bulb out, and never had another problem, check lights in weird places, glove box, trunk, etc. Hope it's as simple as that. Good luck.
start the car and take one of the cables off of the battery with the car still running.if the car dies it is your alternator ..if it stays running you got yourself a piece of crap battery and you need to take it back if you got it from a car parts store so you can get a new one for free
parasitic drain somethings draining it use a test light take the neg cable off and connect it to the battery through the test light if it lights bright u got a drain
go to nearest garage, an get ur alternator checked, if battery is not holding charge this is usually y xx could be the lead from ur alternator too xx
you might be leaving your car lights on.
I had the same problem.. and after much tail and error, I found the problem to be a small flashing light on the dash to indicate the immobiliser was activated so i ripped the little bastard out, and I've never had a problem since..
Damn there's all these women on here who know 10x more about cars than I do.
that is 3 main reasons for the battery to go flat:

1, the wiring on you car have a bad contact some were and makes the battery to lose power.

2, the alternator that charges the battery is not working properly.

3, the battery may have a fault from factory that makes it not to accept charge.

i know there is more, but i think this are the main reasons for it to go flat.
just because it's only 5 months old does'nt mean it's not had it get it checked at a garage recommended by a friend.
This maybe because you have a faulty alternator which recharges the battery whilst being driven. Sometimes this is highlighted by the battery symbol light coming on or flickering. This would be the best place to look first.
need a new battery..
alternator or parasitic draw. you can have both test run at a nearby garage. parasitic draw is when electricity is being drained from the battery when the key is off.
If it is your alternator.. dont buy a brand new one. You can get a reclaimed/reconditioned one by mail order .. see such dealers in the back of Autotrader. It would work out about 25% of the original cost of a new one and usually they come with a short guarantee. You would be unlucky to get a secondhand unit that failed too. They are dead easy to fit too.
Faulty battery, energy drain, something left on, not charging when running, battery too small for size of engine, needs sells filling up with heavy water (distilled water), battery not fitted correctly to terminals.

Have you taken the battery off the car and proved that there is no charge there? If there isn't, then my bet would be that you have a charging problem, and not a battery problem.
After jump start your car take a small tour and see if it restart then the problem is in the battery.See the battery d-water level.
I think the problem is in the battery and its cell gone weak.
this was happening to me and i found out that a small light inside my boot was on so every time i left the car for a long period it would flatten the battery in the day light i could not see that this light was on and i rarely go out at night so it was weeks before i found out hope this helps
Check the earth connection (where the neg terminal connects to the body) if it's loose or corroded then you'll have no power at all simulating a dead battery, have you checked whether the lights work when it wont start? It might be your starter motor sticking which is why it sometimes starts and then it wont. Hope this helps, good luck!
Sounds like the alternator. Change it
