I have a bmw316i how do i unlock rear door?

there might be a child lock activated on the door preventing you from opening from the inside, see if there is a latch or something you can move once you get it open

try the key that came with the car
R u sure it's got a rear door? My hubby's has only got 2 front ones! (95 model)

if it won`t open from inside or out it may be a faulty door lock - you will have to take off the inner panel to see if anything is disconnected or broken - if it all looks ok then you will have to smash the lock and buy a new one!
If all else fails and you are deperate - try a crowbar.
