Renault clio bonnet opened - insurance won't pay as bonnet catch was not lubricated?

Answers:
yes i've seen this common fault on older clio's, been on watchdog a while back. it is the fault of renault, cheap parts and fittings meant this damage was very common. the insurance won't pay for cheap wear and tear, it is simply because of shoddy renault manufacture, next time get a vw or german brand
write one letter to the claims manager, then advise FSA at FSA.gov.uk
use the stuff they used on you . just write .good luck
This is a harsh call on their part but I'm not supprised. Most insurers will do as much as they can to avoid paying out.

I would do as Nimbus suggested. You may also want to talk to citizens advice.

I suspect they are tring it on and if you kick up a fuss they will pay up.
