Is daily commuting from swanage to poole/bournemouth using the chain ferry do-able?

I know the ferry goes three times an hour, but what are the queues like? Could you live in swanage and rely on the ferry to get you to work on time?

Answers:
Yes it is doable. I own a house in Poole which I visit in the summer. Get your timing right though, and as you know the summer season get busy but it depends what time you travel.

Get a bike in the summer and in the winter there will be few q's

It is really cheap aswell. As long as you don't crash into anything. I took my ferrari on there once and it grounded out and i needed a new front bumper £6000 later, it was an expensive day out.
No.

Public transport is unreliable.
Only in fine weather.
I only go on the ferry when i holiday in Poole.

But the queues are nothing to worry about. They usually get a lot of people/cars on the ferry on the journey there and back.
I wouldn't say so. I have tried it and was always late. Getting from the ferry to work was a severe pain in the ****.
