the size of the engine is fine. what you have to worry about is the weight of caravan in relation to your car and performance..could you break efficiently

Make sure the weight on the hitch is between 8 & 11 stone.
Your car will pull it.. no problem, but you will have to make sure the weight of the caravan in relation to your car, is legal.

Yes that's fine i pulled our old 4 berth with a 1.6 Mondeo Estate but get yourself a stabiliser and do'nt overload the van, easy does it, leave room for braking and set off early. Finally you'll be amazed how much more fuel you use.
Hi, first of all look in your cars hand book or ask the dealer the kerbside weight of your car. The ideal towing weight is 85% of the kerbside weight of the car. To get this divide the kerbside weight by 10 then multiply it by 8.5. This will give you the ideal max towing weight. The look on the chassis plate of the caravan which should say how many KGs the "unladen" weight is. Then guess roughly what all the gas bottles toilet etc weighs. then you will know.
Also on the Vauxhaull on the id plate under the bonnet you will have two weights the GVW in kgs and the CVW. you take one from the other and that will give you vauxhalls maximum tow load. On an mas of usually a 12%max gradient (hill)
would depend on the weight of the caravan. it should not weigh any more than 85% of your cars kerb-weight or 100% of the vehicles towing weight. Practical Caravan, your cars hand book and plate on the caravan would give you more information.
only one way to find out. Take the caravan down the road and around the block, did you feel confident enough to tow it on long journeys?
