Why do bmw mini drivers think they can belong to the mini cooper club?
Answers:
It's most likely because John Cooper's company actually still does stuff for the BMW Coopers, John Cooper being the guy who invented the Mini in the first place. They do things such as manufacturing engine and chassis tuning kits for numerous special models of the Cooper S. Not to mention the company still has a voice on the new ones, and John and his son helped consult and test the new BMW Coopers. You can even buy the new Coopers, albeit specially built, from the company, which is I believe called John Cooper Works. So, for my personal opinion, if the new ones got the thumbs up from the guy who created them in the first place, and he had a part in the new Minis, then I don't find a valid reason to bastardize the BMW Minis over the original ones.
Probably because when BMW kept the rights to the Mini, they also kept the right to use the Cooper name on them and thats why there are BMW mini coopers as well as the more traditional ones.
Its just yuppies thinking they are cool
Argh tell me about it, I hate that! My mate has one and he insists on waving to all the other BMW Mini drivers on the road..wanker, if you ask me!
He insists that my Mini (an original Cooper S, painstakingly restored over three years) isn't a 'true' Cooper as it has nowhere near the performance of his.
I'm going to hurt him soon if he doesn't relent!
they are all junk.call it the "junk" club.
