Hi when does the timing belt on a 1996 laguna need changed the car has 101000 miles on it know?

Answers:
as jonjosar above said Renault recommend 70000 but while working as a mechanic in a Renault dealership we used change them as soon as possible every 45000 miles as they had a tendency to break at any time after this..i think that was a general rule in Renault dealerships and wasn't just to make more money it seriously was because they could and a lot of times did break at any time from 45000 on..also make sure you get the idler pulley and water pump if applicable changed at the same time as a car with that mileage the pulley could seize breaking the belt or the water pump could be leaking
its due a new belt. about 100,000 miles is when the belt usually breaks.
sooner than later with that mileage
yesterday mate thats a lot of milage
Renault recommend that the belt is changed at 70,000 miles. Its definitely due a belt if it has,nt already been changed. If the belt breaks on a Laguna, it will do alot of damage. Not only does it bend the valves but it usually breaks the lifters and the adjusting shims as well. Expensive.
Hi, most cam belts are changed at 60,000 miles If you cannot see from the service history that it has had one changed I would recommend you change it now! The damage created if it breaks would cost more to repair than your car is worth! You should be able to get the belt and fitted for approx £60-£70.
Hope this helps.
