You need a medical and other stuff before the test. I have put a link in that explains everything you need and the cost at each stage.
I imagine the test prices are the same country wide in the UK

Just asked my fella.who's got his class I & II and ha said about £700 -£800. If you can't afford that then ask the dwp to pay for you. and they should do.
