Disabled Car Tax?
Answers:
Sounds like the DVLA are doing a stand up job as usuall. NOT
bollocks if you phone up and cancel the tax you are saving the gov money !
You are breaking the law by using this disc if you are not registered disabled. U need to contact the Disabiity Living Allowance office.
In actual fact u r breaking the law by driving your car with this tax disc on it, the previous owner should have removed the tax disc & sent it back to swansea, when the vehicle was sold to you, if you send the log book & tax disc back to swansea they can reclassify the vehicle back for you, enclose a letter stating the fact that you are not disabled & that the disc was on there when you purchased it
return the tax disc to the DVLA and then just tax it in the normal way.
What a load of crap " cannot buy a tax disc as the car is classed as disabled. I cannot change the car's class until the tax disc has run out." You are breaking the law
I'm afarid you are wrong. Unless you are disabled, or are the nominated driver, you cannot drive a car with a disabled tax disc. If you go to your local vehicle tax office and change the classification from Disabled to PLG, you will be able to tax it. I have done it on three occasions now.
As you are not allowed by law to use a disabled tax disc unless you are disabled , you should go to the post office tomorrow morning and tax the vehicle straight away , the previous owner should have removed the tax disc off the vehicle when you bought it , and you are committing an offence by driving the vehicle around , the offences are driving without a valid tax disc and failing to display a valid tax disc . As to not being able to buy a tax disc because the car is registered as disabled it's rubbish just go and buy the tax the government will never refuse money off anyone .
