My mate tints windows as his job. I have watched him do it a number of times and its not easy. The process is long and detailed and the only way that you could learn it is to watch a pro do the job. Also, the back window is a real pain unless you use a product such as pro-tint which is slightly flexible. This is necessary as the majority of cars now have some degree of bend in the rear window. My advice is to get the job done properly. It will add value to the car when you decide to sell it and wont detract from the cars looks.

However you do it be careful of the depth of tint. The police have been known to use it as an excuse to pull you as there is a law against heavy tints. A friend of mine bought a new car with factory tints and was told it was illegal by the police !

You can buy the film for the windows from many car accessory shops but i would not advise you to waste your money so spend a couple of hundred pounds and look in the phone book under the car section and there are many mobile fitters who come to your house and do it for you.Be careful not to tint the front 2 windows 2 dark because it is illegal and also an mot failure.i had my alhambra done with tints that got darker with each window,dark to black at the back window and it looks fantastic.good look
you can get an aerosol to spray it or you can get the window film tint
go to a professional firm such as pentagon auto tint in london - these guys are good and will be able to tell you what will get u pulled and what won't. costs more than DIY, but better finish and less hassle.
