Question about aircraft term?

I think the word is 'yar' but it doesn't appear in the dictionary so I don't know if I've got the spelling wrong or maybe it's an acronym. it's the term for when an aircraft moves or changes direction whilst in flight, but doesn't bank.

that website will give you all you need to know about YAW
It's YAW.
Yes, it's YAW
The answer is YAW and refers to the aeroplane acting in an oposite direction to the way a side wind pushes it!
yaw is the term for left right movement of the aircraft but the term skid is also used to describe a bankless turn
The term is "yaw" and your definition of the word is also incorrect. The proper definition is "the control of the air crafts pitch and yaw to maintain straight and level flight by countering wind direction".
hi there,,,yaw is the term for left and right movement of the aircraft, the aircraft turns left and right by using the rudder (the rudder is a hinged section at the rear of the vertical stabilizer), the pilots use the yaw movement to position the aircraft on to the center line of the runway when landing,

thanks!!
The answers above are correct-the term is yaw. However each of the answers is incomplete. Yaw is controlled by the rudder and is used to maintain the aircraft's heading during cross winds. However it has nothing to do with pitch, and during landing a pilot will more often use "slip" rather than yaw in a crosswind. Yaw can be used without the aid of the ailerons to turn an aircraft through any angle the pilot wishes. But to prevent the plane from skidding, the turn would be very shallow.
It's yaw
i think your looking for yaw
its YAW and the definition is the mopvement of an airplane about the vertical axis. In other words where the NOSE of the airplane moving left or right. DOnt confuse it with banking or turning in an airplane. The wings stay level only that the NOSE AND TAIL of the plane move left or right. YAw in an airplane is controlled with PEDALS alot like the GAS and brake pedals in your car. PRESS LEFT PEDAL and the airplane YAWS left and vice versa.
Yaw

to yaw right is to move the aircrafts rudder right, yawing left is just the opposite
You probably mean Yaw. This is the side-to-side motion induced by the flying control on the tail fin called the rudder. Like on a boat, the rudder causes the vehicle to "steer" left or right. It's not nearly as effective as on a boat, that's why aircraft tend to roll left or right to steer. It's used for small heading changes. Faceoff's made a slight error. you push the left pedal to go right and vice-versa, like steering a bike.
its referred to as YAW. The action of the plane turning by use predominantly of the rudder.
