How do I check gearbox oil and then top up?

Answers:
there is a special dipstick to check level somewhere on the gearbox, best thing is to leave it unless you're having a problem and then take it to a workshop for inspection, if you cant find it pop into your local Ford Dealer and ask them to show you, or you can call Ford Technical on a premium rate number which you can get from your local dealer
Buy haynes manual!
Most modern gearboxes are sealed for life and don't need checking at all. Mercedes boxes have an inspecion point but you'd need to drip oil in for 24 hours to fill it up. Phone your local dealer but I think you are worrying unnecessarily.
Try ebay, got mine from there, they have lots.
