I have a 2002 vw golf and theres water geting in to the rear passangers foot well?

please help ive got water in the passangers foot well think it could be door seal can someone help

Answers:
either a door seal, window seal or floor plug under the carpet.
Check the plugs in the floor well either under the car or pull the carpeting up. Same thing happened to my Jetta. I also had my front rubber floor mat hold water from snow melting and flowing over the seat mounts into the back when too much water was in the mats.
Roll all the windows up tight, get inside and have someone spray water with a garden hose around all the door seals, maybe use a flashlight to look. If you don't see any water try looking under the car there could be a floor plug loose or out.
Look up from the passenger's foot well and check to see if you've got a small hole in your heat supply hose.
All water leaking in runs to the rear as it is lower.

1st most likely is the pollen filter housing seal leaking. (under wiper panel.)

2nd is the door ancillary carrier. (regulator). on any door. that is the silver metal plate you see when the door trim is off. there is a seal around it which can be replaced with this removed.
Check that the drain holes on the bottom of the door are not blocked, and its possible that the windscreen seal is leaking on that side. Also lift the bonnet and check that the drain holes on either side are clear.
remove the door trim. behind it there should be some plastic covering the holes that you get to the window mechanism through. if the covering is missing water runs inside the door and out through the holes in the door.trust me
I get water in the same place in my Clio. When you wash your windscreen does water come out onto the screen? This is what is causing mine apparently my hose has come apart, could it be the same thing?
The same thing happened to me. Turns out it was the sunroof, the drain tubes weren't working right.

Best of luck to you
I had the same problem which turned out to be a heater matrix hose which eventually burst altogether and sprayed my passengers legs with hot water! Might be worth while getting a mechanic to check the hoses! (no easy task though) be prepared for a shocking bill!!!!!
really, i thought a mate was being funny when he said that happened, i was told that it comes throgh the door seal, appatrently its quite common, it was a design fault
Do you have a sunroof? I do and the same problem happened to me. The drainage system was clogged and not working properly, sending water into the rear footwells--a lot of water. A VW design flaw.
Check if it gets wet when you have your heater on. It could be the heater core has a hole in it. Does your front windshield fog up with the heater on? Thats a good indicator of a bad heater core.
