If its the ecotec engine then you as you look at the engine there is the word ecotec on a black palsitc cover looking at this so its the right way round go to the right hand side of the engine and then where the cylinder head meets the engine there will be a little flat spot probbably covered in rust or gunge it should be on there and will start with the letter c or x i.e. c20xe x20xev
on all modern cars you can find it on the label on the seatbelt..no matter what car it is
it should be behind the main engine block
