Have a look at What Car's review (below)
all car manufactuers today have to meet or excide safty standers so yes its safe they get like 70 or 80 mpg there good on the hyw as well as in city long trips might be not to confee but hell its confort or fuel milage right they do about 90mph so ya go 4 it if thats what you like
wrecks hurt --next? the older ya are the more they hurt too!!
Smart cars are made in such a way that even heavy accident should not hurt the passengers.
The front portion and the rear portions are made of meterials which can be crushed in an accident and this crushing will absorbe average of 80% impact of the accident and the cabin means the space where passengers are sitting will be made of very strong meterials so even the accident is heavy the passenger cabin will not be much affected.
as we know in modern world safety is first thing to consider therefor you can buy a modern smart car. therefor you should not afraid to buy.
They are for running around town not long journeys & I would not think they are the safest car to be in if you are involved in an accident
from above ye they safe well i think so can't remember how i got here on the motorway and a big FU****** lorry ran over my so called
smart car whats int smart that day
No problems with safety except visibility - lorry (truck) drivers sometimes see you.
The cabin is INCREDIBLY strong. The car show Fifth Gear (UK) did a frontal impact demo at 70mph (110kph) into a stationary concrete block. The car remained basically intact, even the front window didn't pop out & the doors could still be opened.
The impact force (g) probably would have killed the occupants..but their bodies could've been retrieved just fine. Can't win 'em all!!
