This lamp can come on for a variety of reasons, one simple one that you can check for yourself is the brake lights. If both bulbs are blown it will illuminate the lamp,a faulty brake light switch can also cause it to come on.Failing that the only way is to get it diagnosed at a dealer or good independent, shouldn't cost more than an hours labour to retrieve the fault codes from the ECU.

This could stand for 'Electronic Parking Control' , but I've a feeling it has to do with traction control, but don;t know what it stands for.
Ask a garage, if it is electronic it could be a false alarm, about the only way to be sure these days is with the computer at the garage that does that mark of vehicle. pain in the neck really.
EPC= electronic power control. Could mean a variety of different things wrong with your car. Best suggestion would be to take it to a dealer and have it diagnosed.
Electronic Pressure Control.
I dont know much about this item, but it seems that this a big problem for all VW owners. Are you still under warrantee? get back to the dealer and complain about a lemon law if they cant correct the problem. I have seen this problem on many VW's and no one seems to know how to fix them.
Good Luck..
I beleive it is something to do with the onboard computer, what it is saying is your battery needs a charge,i have a skoda this happens to me ,i just take it out for a drive more than 10 miles and it goes alright after that, short journeys plus heater, wipers, radio, takes it out of your battery, hope this helps,
Electroic Power Control.
Something is wrong with engine. Take it back to dealership. You may be damaging it by driving it.
i think the best thing for you to do would be to bring your beetle to your local volkswagen dealer, if you have not done that already. they should be able to correct the problem for you.
What I hear is that your brake light switch that is under the brake pedal is not working properlly, you need to replace it and it is really easy. You can do it in matter of 8.5 minutes. The symptoms are that you tail lights are still on whenever you turn off your car.
Sorry julie i dont no why you got such strange answers to a simple question, some people !
EPC = Electronic Power Control, should go out when the engine is running, its checking the engine management system for faults,if the engine has lost power [misfiring] you should not drive on.
But i have got a funny feeling about your car !,have you checked your stop lights recently ?with the ignition on or engine running hold your foot on the brake, get someone to check the stop lights they should be on otherwise boom someone will go into your boot, best of luck, dont drink and drive LOL
EPC = Electronic Power Control. If the car is running ok then probably an electrical fault. brake light switch, coolant temp sensor etc) Check your brake lights!!
If the car is runing poolry, may be a missfire, coils (if petrol) air mass meter etc.
The only way to find out is VW dealer for diagnostic. Should be no more than half an hours labour for a diagnosis
the epc light is for the traction control system the is a fault usually very simple.have you checked the brake lights are working?this is because 90% of the time the fault is with the brake light switch and it causes the epc light to come on.i recommend you take the car in to a garage to be checked out as it needs to be plugged in to a computer to reset and read the system.doesent have to be the main dealers as long as they have the relevant software.
electronic power valve you most probbably got a dirty throttle valve not very expensive to fix at the main dealer i wouldent bother with the side street garages they never seem to find the problem
Look in the manual index for "dash display" or "warning lights".
