How do I get really cheap car insurance?

I'm 23 and passed my driving test several months ago unfortunatly I have been able to take part in the wonderful joys of motoring due to the reiculous amounts of money I am being asked to pay for my insurance. £1500 onwards for a 1.3
I know the obvious things like age size of car insurance grouping etc. but does any body know something that will help me substancially.
I have also heard it is possible to advertise companies by having advertisments on your veichle does any body know if there is any truth in this and if so How i can go about doing it? I live in England London so if you have any ideas i plead with you to help me thank you

Try not to get any speeding tickets or any accidents
Tesco's insurance is preety cheap, give them a try.
That sucks. The good news is I just saved a ton of money by switching to Geico.

15 minutes can save you up to 15%
The only way is to lie in the insurance policy.otherwise SKY HIGH!!
And don't try Norwich Union- they will rip you off
About advertising on your vehicle..the companies that do this want new cars, and they only pay your car payments for a set period of time, not your insurance. In fact, they require you to carry full coverage insurance with their name included on the policy to cover their liability. The only way to save money on insurance is to own an old car and have liability only insurance, until you reach the ripe old age of 26 or get married, then your premiums will go down. You can also find some companies that will give you a discount if you own a home and/or pay the full amount owed for the premium up front. Check into whether your company gives you a discount if you take a Hi-Performance Driving Course/Class. That will give you an excuse to take a high speed driving school and get the discount upon graduating. It isn't much, but it is worth using the excuse to do it, and it is a blast! Drive Safe--Have Fun! Tah!
put all your details in one of the online brokers and they will show you quotes from a number of companies or phone a broker and they will do all the work for you
There's not much else you can do, maybe take your pass plus and get the qualification, it's supposed to help a bit.

The value of your car counts little towards your quote, unless it's really expensive.

I went from a 1.1 Fiesta to a 1.4 Focus and the premium stayed exactly the same so minor differences in engine size do not matter.

Sadly apart from getting years under your belt there's little you can do.

Check out Admiral.com they do a bonus accelerator policy, you only get 10 months worth, but if you get through the 10 months they class it as a full year's no claims discount (getting full no claims is the key to getting your renewals down).

Edit - Avoid Tescos, they are cheap, but if you have an accident (your fault or not) they are awful. They talk to you like rubbish, and the courtesy car is only for 2 weeks!
call the gecko
No such thing, they will screw you until the day you die
Definitely go to confused.com. I'm 21 and my insurance for my Vauxhall Corsa was about £450. Once you enter your details it'll tell you the cheapest place to get your insurance. The cheapest for me was the Post Office, and I got £50 cashback too.

Don't lie on your insurance like someone else suggested- it'll just invalidate your insurance and then you're back to square one.
Either have a sex change to become a woman (if you are not already), or wait till you are old! these bastards will always rip off young people (just coz they can).
you could buy yourself a classic car and have it on a limited mileage policy. As you are over 21 there are companies that specialize in these fields, although they have limitations eg. must be garaged, some form of immobiliser, belong to a club etc,.also some only take into account that its just the car to be insured,so you do not amass any no claims bonus, but driver and occupants are covered in event of an accident,as the policies are nearly always fully comprehensive cover.,some do give n.c.b.,you have to check. Also the vehicle needs to be at least 10years old and certified a classic ,some at least 20 years old. There are plenty of good classics out there eg., stags, jags ,american and italian plus the porsches and early bmw.I was quoted £280 fully comp for a V8 yank in london area and have had these type of policies for about 15-20years or so now.good luck
say u park it in a garage got good security and so on
You can bring down your insurance premium in a few ways.
Fit an Alarm/Immoboliser
Use a steering lock
If possible keep the vehicle garaged at night
Keep the mods on your car to a minimum (Alloys, stereo etc).
If you know anyone in a slightly better postcode than yourself ask if you can register the car at that address instead of your own (a bit naughty that one)
No chance ,, sell the car .
