Rotten smell in my boot of my VW Passat?
Answers:
Here is a serious answer:
Quit using your car as a garbage scowl, unless that is all that you think of it!
Try Oxi Clean it should get the smell out
If not sprinkle liberally with washing powder and leave for a while then vacuum it up.
What about fabrieze? its a spray that removes the odours from fabrics, or, oust is an air freshener that also removes the odours and doesn't cover them up!
hope this helps hon
The problem you have is probably that its not just 'on' your carpet, but its 'in' your carpet. This means the only way of removing it is to get a liquid Vax hoover and shampoo out the spill. It only takes about 5 mins, but it will get rid of the smell.
If you dont, you can spend as much as you like on all the fancy sprays of the day, but every time it gets wet or heats up with the sun ((( bang ))) there it is again.

My sympathies to you. I was at work, using my daily driver, when my folks loaded grass-cuttings into the boot of my hot-rod, and went out shopping, forgot to go to the tip, came home and parked up , and I didn't use the car for a couple of days. It was sickening! The other answer about using Oxy-Action sprays is good advice, however, I'm sure that your carpet can be removed, I mean it's not gonna be welded in place, is it? When you get it out, jetwash it, violently. Have the boot open for hours to air it out, but disconnect the boot interior lamp, or you'll flatten your battery.
Good luck with that!
What about those little smelly trees you can hang up in your car. You could have a whole forest of them, like that scene in Seven.
Go to the local store and get a packet of bi-carb soda powder and toss the whole packet of Bi-carb powder in the boot of your car leave for a few days and vacuum the powder up, if need be do it again, the bi-carb costs about $2-3 a 500gm box. Or you can put the powder in a couple of socks and tie one end, but I prefer to shake the powder freely and vacuum. goodluck!
ps: you can also try white or cider vinegar.
you need to clean the carpet the disenfectant and sprays are only covering it up if you dont get it out of the carpet the smell will always be there
